Growing faith, challenging minds, discovering talents

Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Mr Eric Fowler

My name is Eric Fowler. I work as a consultant in the energy industry having taken early-retirement from National Grid where I was a senior manager in the gas business for over 30 years.

I became a governor for Higham primary school in 2016 and shortly afterwards was elected as chair of the committee. I am now the Vice Chair of the Cluster Governing Committee with formed in January 2022. I have oversight responsibilities for Finance, Health and Safety and community links.

I live in Higham on the Hill and I am the Churchwarden for the parish church (which is just behind the school). In my spare time I am an athletics coach and I still try to enjoy running myself (although I’m a lot slower than I want to be).

I became a governor because I believe that positive support for pupils and their parents can make a significant difference to the success of the children and also for their communities. I am keen to see that the distinctly Christian ethos of the schools continues to guide that support and allows all our pupils to reach their full potential.
